When a friend saw Vincent Tries on Rembrandt’s Hats, she remarked to the artist,
“You’ve done so many portraits. Why no self-portraits?” Zap!
The concept for this series of pastiches came immediately to mind,
including most of the paintings on which the portraits are based.
Each portrait is separately framed, an idea borrowed from embroiderer Andrea Dezsö.
